Our Story
Most people think we just sell ice cream, but our original food truck, Do It Yum, was built for something much bigger. We wanted to create opportunities for our son, Cole, and other neurodivergent individuals who deserve meaningful work, encouragement, and a place to shine.
So we built something!
What started as an ice cream trailer has grown into a purpose-driven community space. Through partnerships with local organizations, we are able to provide vital job training and experience for the neurodivergent community while serving up fun, creative treats.
We hope this journey reminds our community that neurodivergent individuals aren't just capable—they are essential.
What We Offer

Learn to prepare, portion, and present ice cream, coffee, smoothie, and drink products. Learn to safely use commercial kitchen equipment and safe food handling procedures while reading orders from a kitchen display system.

Learn to welcome guests and assist in finding merchandise or gift items, gain hands-on experience scanning items, processing payments, and printing receipts, and learn how to monitor retail shelves, replenish stock, and maintain store tidiness.

Learn step-by-step procedures for opening and closing tasks to ensure a clean and tidy environment, gain experience maintaining a pristine customer experience, practice safe handling, sorting, and disposal of trash and recyclable materials, and gain hands-on experience safely operating floor mops, vacuums, and specialized cleaning supplies.

Welcome customers with a friendly attitude while assisting them in understanding flavor profiles, identifying products free of dietary restrictions, and choosing the perfect treats. Practice active listening to input customized orders into a POS system, gain confidence handling and processing payments, and gain problem-solving skills while handling order adjustments or special guest requests.

Workability Alliance exists to expand meaningful employment opportunities for neurodivergent young adults as they transition into the workforce. We believe that all abilities deserve equal access to employment and that success is not defined by fitting a single mold, but by the unique strengths each individual brings.
We celebrate the neurodivergent community for the creativity, focus, problem-solving abilities, authenticity, and diverse perspectives they contribute to the workplace. However, many in the neurodivergent community experience difficulty securing employment due to lack of experience. Our mission is to bridge the gap between training and employment. We provide the training and experience necessary to prepare individuals with real-world skills and connect them with employers who value inclusion and individual strengths.
